On June 7th, the FRRL provided support for the 3rd annual Walter and Connie Payton Foundation “Sweetness Run”. The Kendal County ARES group under the direction of Dirk Wolgast, W9QA took the lead in organizing the communications for this event. The formal Communication Plan that was distributed was a great help to our volunteers. Great job, Dirk.
The event was thankfully uneventful. There were only a few minor items that were addressed without incident. All of our volunteers were very professional and efficient communicators.

Most of us had the opportunity to meet Connie Payton and she was very thankful for our help. The race organizers ran a wonderful event. I had the privilege of “shadowing” the event coordinator, Nancy Wilson, and I as well as the club look forward to supporting this event in the future.
