Public Service, Contesting, Experimentation, Education, DX-ing, Satellites:
Amateur Radio encompasses these and a multitude of other activities and interests. Whether you have been licensed for 50 years, just got your license yesterday or are starting to think about getting into the hobby, there is a place for you.

Amateur Radio (HAM radio as it’s more widely known) is a hobby for all ages and all education levels. It’s a hobby that evolves with you as you go through life. Tired of looking for new countries to contact?  How about building a kit?  Maybe you are a classroom teacher. Ham radio can fit into your lesson plan in more ways than just a radio for an occasional contact. How about having students downloading real time weather satellite images for your geography lesson? Building a satellite simulator is easier than you think and it can be used in many ways.

The Fox River Radio League located in Aurora, IL is a group of roughly 150 amateur radio enthusiasts (HAMS) from all walks of life. We are electronic engineers, nuclear physicists, truck drivers, salesmen, retirees, high school teachers, young people, you name it, and we probably have someone who did or does it.  The thing we all share is a love and dedication to the hobby, the art and science of radio and communication.

Whatever your interest, there are people here you can call on for help and encouragement.

You are cordially invited to visit with us at a club meeting, held on the second Tuesday of each month at 19:30 at St. Rita of Cascia Church, 750 West Old Indian Trail, Aurora, IL.  Can’t make a meeting?  Drop in on our repeater 147.210 +600 103.5pl or 444.300 +500 114.9pl.  or try our D-Star Repeaters 147.225 (W9CEQ__C) and 442.10625 (W9CEQ__B).

If you have any questions you can always contact me via e-mail at President “at” FRRL.org
